Terrence P. Duffy

  • Terrence Duffy is a distinguished executive and seasoned investor serving as the Chairman and CEO of both Ferrox Critical Minerals and Lionhart Capital, a Canada-based firm overseeing hedge fund and private equity operations.

With a career deeply rooted in the mining and natural resources sectors, Terry brings extensive operational and developmental experience gained through his work with prominent South African entities, including Eastern Platinum and Petra Diamonds. Since founding Lionhart Capital in 1993 with less than $10 million in capital, he has steered the firm’s evolution into a robust global organization. Under his leadership, Lionhart has developed a core competence in mining investments while successfully allocating capital across a diverse range of strategies, industry sectors, and asset classes.

Throughout his tenure, Terry’s strategic approach to investment and rigorous focus on risk management have been the cornerstones of the firm’s success, enabling Lionhart to deliver above-average returns in seventeen of its first nineteen years. This consistent performance has earned the firm widespread industry acclaim, including nine Barclay Hedge awards—reaching a #1 ranking five times—as well as multiple honors from Hedge Fund Review and EuroHedge. Before establishing Lionhart, Terry built a formidable reputation at First Interstate Capital Markets as the Head Trader of Global Equity Derivatives, where he was instrumental in generating significant proprietary profits.

His professional expertise is underpinned by a strong technical foundation, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Purdue University.

Allen J. Palmiere

  • Allen Palmiere is a veteran of the international mining sector, boasting over 25 years of experience in C-suite executive roles across a diverse range of global operations.

His career is defined by a consistent track record of corporate restructuring, massive capital raises, and successful exits. Notably, from 2004 to 2009, Allen served as both CEO and Chairman of the Board for Hudbay Minerals, a TSX-listed company valued at C$3 billion. During this pivotal period, he overhauled the company’s governance structure, restructured the board, and installed a new operations team to drive growth. His ability to spearhead corporate turnarounds was also evidenced during his tenure at Barplats from 2004 to 2006; by rebuilding the management team and accelerating production, he facilitated a sale to Eastplats that yielded a staggering 1,000% return and created Canada’s largest platinum producer.

In addition to his work with Hudbay and Barplats, Allen served as President and CEO of Adriana Resources from 2009 to 2015. Under his leadership, the company raised $180 million, expanded its iron ore resource base, and successfully negotiated a joint venture with a major Chinese partner following the completion of a comprehensive feasibility study.

At Zemex, Allen was a primary architect of growth, closing 12 acquisitions in eight years and raising $1.2 billion in debt and equity—efforts that tripled the company's size and maintained an EBITDA growth rate of 20% per annum.

A Chartered Accountant since 1981, Allen holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.
